Dr. Trevor Smith is widely published and a nationally recognized expert for the prebored pressuremeter (PMT) and deep foundations. Smith, co-designer of the TEXAM unit marketed by Roctest, has taught PMT short courses and attended 4 International Conferences on the tool. InSitu Tech Inc. has consulted on numerous geotechnical problems, including: mats, shallow footings, piles and shafts under static and cyclic lateral loads. Of note is the recent large 10 feet diameter shaft under cyclic load testing in sands and gravel, believed to be the largest pile tested laterally with pseudo-static loads in the US. InSitu Tech Inc. performed prebored PMT testing and successfully constructed all P-y curves.

Trevor Smith, Ph.D., PE (TX) has been teaching, conducting research, and offering pressuremeter capabilitites to consultants for over 20 years.

Over 1000 prebored PMT tests have been conducted to characterize a wide range of soils, including difficult soils: soft silts, silty sands, gravels, sandstone and arid collapsible soils.
